What is MISSION: Beautiful?
MISSION: Beautiful is a mission to clean the lens of perception of what real beauty is. It is a mission to start a fresh conversation about what makes each and every one of us beautiful just as we are, to live our lives loving who we are, to go forward with the confidence that we are living our purpose, to live in our bliss and celebrate our uniqueness, and to do so beautifully!
As a photographer, I know that it’s all about the lens. That’s because the better the lens, the cleaner the lens, the less dirt and dust it has, the sharper the picture.
It’s time to stop and consider that maybe the lens that we see ourselves through is smudged, dusty, and distorted with all the negativity we have been fed through society and even ourselves. I challenge you to change your lens and start seeing yourself differently.
MISSION: Beautiful is about being real, being unique and being authentic, and celebrating all the things that make us the amazing women that we are.
If it happens to be a time in your life when you don’t feel very beautiful, it is my mission for this blog to empower and give you resources that can help you through. I know how you feel, and just like many women, I feel that I need to change my own lens. This is also a journey for me as I am learning right along with you and gaining confidence and strength as this mission grows.
Why Start a MISSION: Beautiful? Because frankly, as women, we can often find that we have forgotten who we are; we always put others first, and all too often we listen to the negative talk in our heads. I believe if we remember who we are, take time to take care of ourselves and shhhh the negative talk, we will be better wives, moms, daughters, sisters, and friends.
Beauty is not just about how we look. Beauty is: being a mom, being a grandmom, having a silly laugh, a smile that lights up a whole face, a unique sense of style, a zest for life, a compassionate and loving nature, ambition and goals, so many things that don’t have anything to do with the physical.
This is about celebrating our uniqueness and who we are and passing it on. To celebrate this beauty is celebrating all the women in our lives.
